What inspired you to become an artist?

My passion for music, especially electronic music, runs really deep and I’ve been drawn to the scene since first being exposed to it in the 90s – I desperately wanted to be a part of the process of propelling the scene forward, by adding my own personal taste to the mixes I produce, the crowds I play for and the radio content I produce.

How would you describe your music style or genre?

Progressive/Melodic/Techno

Can you share a bit about your musical journey and how it has evolved over the years?

I’ve always loved music, picked up drumming in HS and was introduced to electronic music proper in ’97 – learned how to DJ in ’98, was first on Kiss in ’99. Have been immersed in the scene ever since, from promoting for Hardware/Wetmusik to lots of radio both in Aus and EU, to the latest as host of ‘Positive Education’ on Kiss FM.

What are some of your biggest musical influences?

Jeff Mills, Thomas Schumacher, CJ Bolland, Sasha, Underworld, Orbital, Guy J, Jam & Spoon
Tell us about your creative process when producing a new track or mix.
It’s all about the journey! This Proponent Records mix is one of those where I love every single track, I meticulously crafted this set with a mixture of new and old skool progressive gems which blur the lines between my two favourite sub-genre’s; progressive house and techno.

Can you share any memorable experiences or stories from your live performances?

How do you feel the music scene has changed over the years, and what impact has it had on your work?
I love how the scene has evolved, especially in Melbourne. I attended my first rave in ’97 and it was a life changing experience. I love where things are at and find great inspiration by the abundance of local talent showcasing their skills/passion, the quality of music released from all over the world (which is also now far more accessible than the vinyl days), and most of all the fans who keep the scene alive.
