About
What inspired you to become an artist?
As someone who loves high energy spaces and large crowds, it was inevitable that I’d find myself in the underground scene. Exploring all of the clubs and festivals Naarm/ Melbourne has to offer allowed me a unique opportunity to experience a wide range of DJs and artists from all over the world. I found being part of a community which focuses on the music rather than surface level entertainment to be infectious and so I had to try it out myself!
How would you describe your music style or genre?
The elements I love to play with is a mixture of breakbeat, rave and techno. A mixture of these elements with a bit of groove and energy allows me to play a wide range of tempo’s, genres and vibes.
Can you share a bit about your musical journey and how it has evolved over the years?
Starting out with a pretty basic understanding of dance music, I mostly started mixing house and tech house. However, lockdown gave me an opportunity to really explore all of the sub genres dance music had to offer which is evident in my incorporation of electro, ghetto tech and experimental elements into my sets
What are some of your biggest musical influences?
Mall Grab, Bielefeld Murder Boys, AK Sports, Costa
Tell us about your creative process when producing a new track or mix.
I always try to create a mix where the tracks sound and feel consolidated, weather that be through a theme, particular style or vibe.
Can you share any memorable experiences or stories from your live performances?
My favourite experience was an unexcepted sunrise set at one of Saltare’s Doofs. As I turned off the music and thanked people for coming, I was met with a chant of “one more song”. Of course, I gave the people what I wanted. However, that one song turned into a full hour set which took the event even further into the morning and were met with the sun rising over us.’
How do you feel the music scene has changed over the years, and what impact has it had on your work?
I think the scene is going through a golden age. It continues has continued to flourish, which has given rise to greater amount of artists exploring more niche sub-genres and more clubs spaces/ festivals, allowing more opportunities to experience these new ideas and sounds
Are there any specific venues or festivals that hold a special place in your heart? Why?
Revolver Upstairs… No explanation needed 🙂
Lastly, what message or feeling do you hope to convey to your listeners through your music?
I hope to make my sets as infectious as possible, to make the listener groove and feel the energy in each and every track I play!
